Compliance

As a financial management expert, I have extensive experience in compliance and ensuring that financial systems are in line with regulations and policies. In my previous roles, I have participated in formulation, appraisal, and review missions, providing critical insights on financial matters along with carried out special financial reviews of projects, helping to identify potential areas of risk and provide recommendations for improvement. 

One of my strengths is conducting capacity assessments of organizations and businesses, this entails analyzing financial systems and identify opportunities for streamlining and optimizing processes.  

Other focus areas are; establish, analyze, and review budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently. In addition to budgeting, I have expertise in cost controlling, strategic and financial controlling of activities, and reporting set up and analysis. I have reviewed and streamlined finance systems, including procedures for monthly closure, to ensure that reporting is accurate and timely. 

Finally, I am passionate about training finance staff and have successfully provided coaching and guidance to improve their skills and knowledge. My approach is to provide hands-on training and support to help staff feel confident in their roles and be able to contribute to the organization’s success.

Corruption

As an anti-corruption expert, I have a strong background in facilitating workshops and training programs that help organizations establish integrity and anti-corruption policies. I have conducted risk assessments and vulnerability to corruption assessments, identifying potential areas of risk and providing recommendations for mitigation. 

One of my strengths lies in designing and delivering training programs and seminars within compliance, anti-corruption, financial management, and risk management. I am passionate about educating individuals and organizations on how to identify and prevent corruption. In addition to training, I have assisted institutions in establishing and implementing anti-corruption policies and procedures. I understand the importance of ensuring that organizations have strong governance structures in place to prevent corruption, and have provided critical insights and recommendations to help them achieve this. 

Finally, I have conducted anti-corruption workshops and training programs in various contexts, including for government agencies, private sector companies, and civil society organizations. I have a deep understanding of the different challenges and opportunities that each of these sectors face, and tailor my approach accordingly. 

Closure / Phase out

As a closure expert, I have extensive experience in managing the closure of Danida programs and ensuring that all processes are completed correctly and efficiently. One of my strengths is in formulating process action plans for closure, matching tasks with human resources (HR) plans, and providing support to ensure that all closure activities are completed on time and within budget. I have managed financial closure processes, including drafting terms of reference, conducting dialogues with auditors, and reviewing and finalizing reports. In addition, I have provided support to ensure that all financial data is accurately entered into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) internal systems. 

Another area of expertise is in drafting final results reports (PCR) to ensure that programs and projects are closed correctly. This involves reviewing all data and ensuring that performance indicators are met, as well as identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for future programming. 

Throughout my career, I have provided critical support on performance indicators and other key measures of program success. I understand the importance of ensuring that programs are closed effectively and efficiently, and work closely with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and ensure that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard. 

Christian was hired by the Embassy of Denmark in Bangladesh for the period Sept 2020 to Aug 2021 to support with a full and complete closure of a large development programme involving approx 45 staff, 1400+ assets and a complex control environment with associated risks and numerous audits to keep on track. During the closure, Christian demonstrated excellent oversight, management and communication skills. He developed and handled all relevant elements in the exit-plan in a structured and professional manner. The programme was completed and closed to our full satisfaction - in large part thanks to Christian and his team.

Jeg havde fornøjelsen af at arbejde sammen med Christian i ca. 10 måneder i 2019/20, hvor Christian var ansat som konsulent i Gate 21.
